Tuesday, April 03, 2007
Ken and Judy Bailey bring some news on their
work in
Kamifukuoka.
They recently returned from stateside
assignment and are continuing to develop their
church in
the Toujou area.
On April 1st they joined with the Iriso church
in dedicating the home of the Nomura family to
help establish this new work. Read More...
In 2001, while working to begin The Good News Chapel along with Tokyo Team members Mirial Gainer, Don and Ruth McDonald, and missionary apprentice Brenda (Wendlandt) Carney, Ken and Judy also began a preaching point in the home of Iriso Church members, Osamu and Yoko Nomura, who had recently transfered to another part of Tokyo. In 2005, while continuing to serve at Good News Chapel, they began ministering full-time in partnership with the Nomura family, holding several English and Bible study classes, along with weekly worship services.
In
February of this year, Osamu and Yoko were able
to purchase their own home a few train stops
from their previous location. Sunday, April 1,
2007, we joined with Iriso Free Will Baptist
Church members to dedicate the Nomura's home.
We have begun Bible studies and worship
services in this new area, and will be adding
other classes in the coming weeks. Our Team
includes Osamu, his wife, Yoko, their two young
daughters Minori and Hikari, along with Osamu's
mother, Sachiko Nomura. His father is not yet a
believer, but is, in his own words, a "seeker."
Please pray for his salvation and for our
witness in this new community. Pray for the
unsaved who attended the house dedication
service. Please pray that we will be able to
integrate our previous contacts into the new
outreach. This includes 12 unsaved families who
attended the English classes and Bible
studies.
