Joint Picnic with Tokyo-Area Churches
Wednesday, October 10, 2007
Monday October 8 was a national holiday here in
Japan. The people of Kami-fukuoka, Fukuin
Chapel and Iriso Church in Tokyo took the
opportunity to have their yearly joint picnic.
The event was held at a nearby park and proved
to be a time of blessing and fellowship,
despite an occasional light rain.
We started with a time of worship, with Kenji Hosokawa leading the singing and Pastor Kojima giving a short devotional message. Then fires were lit, grills were fired up, and food was cooked o' plenty! There's nothing like the smell of grilled food! Everyone took their time enjoying the meal and the company. It isn't often that our people in Tokyo can gather to worship and fellowship together, and so it's always a blessing when they can!
